All Hermes Evelyne bags adopt French hand saddle stitching (Couture Sellier), featuring double needles and double threads with symmetrical stitches on both sides, an overall uniform slope of approximately 18°, a stitch density of about 14 stitches per inch, consistent tension, slightly convex and matte stitches, smooth and non-stacked corners, double-thread reinforcement at stress points (shoulder strap connections, bag edges), backstitch locking at the ends to prevent single-thread breakage from spreading. The stitching of the entire bag is fully handcrafted, free from the flat and rigid feel of machine stitching.
Two needles pass through the same hole with bidirectional cross-locking, and the stitches on both sides are mirror-symmetrical, different from machine single-thread overlocking.
Linen waxed thread (waterproof, wear-resistant, matte texture, natural patina with use), whose color matches the leather precisely.

The thread specification is uniform, mostly adopting 3-ply or 4-ply braided structure, with moderate thickness, which can not only ensure the stitching firmness, but also not damage the integrity of the leather due to too thick thread, avoiding excessive needle holes affecting the appearance.
The color of the thread matches the bag’s leather (such as Clemence, Swift, etc.) precisely without obvious color difference, all calibrated by Hermès exclusive color numbers. The core raw material of the thread—linen fiber—is mainly purchased from high-quality linen-producing areas in France and surrounding regions. Priority is given to high-quality linen with long and thin fibers, strong toughness and no impurities to ensure the basic quality of the thread. Similar to the raw silk procurement logic of Hermès silk products, the linen raw material for Evelyne threads also adopts a fixed supplier cooperation model, signing long-term exclusive cooperation agreements to eliminate the inflow of inferior raw materials from the source and ensure the consistent quality of each batch of linen fibers. At the same time, the beeswax is natural beeswax, purchased from local French beekeepers without adding artificial chemical components, ensuring the environmental protection and safety of the waxed thread.
