Shebag runs a dedicated compact handcraft workshop equipped with an extensive array of specialized hand tools. Sewing machines are entirely omitted from production, defining the core craftsmanship behind its handmade bags.

The saddle stitch uses two needles threaded onto a single length of thread. Both needles pass through the identical hole from opposite directions, generating dual-sided diagonal stitching angled between 40 and 45 degrees in a distinct double-wave formation, whereas machine stitching runs flat and in a single direction only. Visually, stitches appear full and slanted on the exterior side and form rice-grain shaped diagonal patterns on the reverse. Should one segment of thread snap, the whole seam remains intact, boasting three times the tensile strength of machine stitching. Pre-punched holes are made with a 3.38mm diamond chisel, keeping stitch spacing deviation within ±0.2 millimeters. Stitches are set slightly tighter around stress-bearing sections including handle joints and corner curves and spaced marginally wider along curved transitions. Precise pre-punch positioning is completed with scratch gauges to mark stitching paths before vertical hole punching via diamond chisels for perfectly aligned holes with consistent striking force. Thread is secured with wrapped anchoring loops at stitch initiation; finishing stitches lock loose thread ends inside material layers through backstitching without exposed tails or adhesive bonding. Double-layered or cross stitching reinforces high-load spots at handle attachments, bag corners and zipper bases to improve weight-bearing capacity. Following stitching completion, edges undergo multiple rounds of edge coating, sanding and hot burnishing to achieve a smooth glass-like finish that conceals raw leather grain.
